<item><title>Alternative Terrain Textures for RailWorks</title><link>http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=24732</link><description>This is a complete set of alternative terrain textures for RailWorks with instructions on how to create your own Blueprint. Much of the work related to the development of these textures is shown in this UKTS thread -

http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=304&amp;t=106824

Due to the way RailWorks is designed, you cannot just add new textures to existing routes, so you need to bear this in mind before downloading this large file. Ideally you will be creating a new terrain blueprint at the same time as you are creating a new route template for your new route. In addition, it helps to have some knowledge of creating Blueprints and an understanding of the way the RailWorks files are structured.

The file contains sets of terrain texture files in .tga and .ace format together with procedural flora texture files in several formats that you can work on yourself if you wish.

There is also a mini tutorial on how to create your new terrain blueprint.

I have not included instructions on how to make your own textures but there are links included to instructions on how to do this, including the original tutorials from Derek Siddle (RSderek) which inspired me to try and create my own textures in the first place.

In BR days they could be seen anywhere.
The unfitted version would not have lasted long in BR ownership and is modelled in run down condition with the paint worn off.
The fitted wagons began to be scraped in the mid 50s as road vehicles took over the traffic.
