Class 47/4 No. 47475 for TS2012

-= Class 47/4 No. 47475 for TS2012=-

This is a reskin of the default class 47 as the unique Provincial liveried 47475 that operated primarily on the Liverpool - Newcastle services in the late 1980s / early 1990s prior to the introduction of Class 158s on these diagrames.

Installation instructions:

Unzip the .rwp file to somewhere convenient such as your desktop.

In the Railworks launch window, go to the Package Manager tab and click install. Navigate to the .rwp file and click Ok.

IMPORTANT: then go to the tools tab and click "clear cache". If the clear cache button is not selected, exit Railworks and reload and it will appear.

To use in game:

In the scenario editor, ensure Kuju and Railsimulator as selected as providers (click the big blue box on left then see the flyout on the right)

They will be available for selection under "FP_BY_"

PROBLEMS?

Make sure you "clear cache"

If you have missing textures or other errors, go back and read the instructions and recopy the shape files correctly.

If that fails, you may need to verify integrity of the game cache via Steam if the problem persists. Make sure you have any default files that you have amended (such as sound packs) backed up and are prepared to reinstall them.

If you still have problems after that, then contact me, or seek help via the UKTS forums.

Invisible Wagon

Having made this to carry a loco headboard as a freight animation I have thought up so many other uses for it that I have made it avaliable for others to play with.
As well as headboards, lamps, figures etc it can also be used by activity writers to place messages in sidings, engineers vehicles on worksites and line blockages. I'm sure everybody will have a use for it.

After being informed that an invisible shape casts a shadow, I have made a very small shape which hides just under the railhead.
It does not need an ace file - it aliases to the main texture folder.

The shape is totally freeware. Copy and rename it as you wish.

A bad day on the WCML

Due to an incident south of Lancaster you are two hours late reaching Carlisle.
To add to the misery, you are held outside the station waiting for a southbound service to depart.
There's a broken down train at platform 3 so you will need to use platform 4 today.
If you're lucky you should be able to make Carstairs where your driving hours will be up for the day, ( a fresh driver will be waiting to take over from you. )
A list of stock requirements is in the readme and if you've run any of my other scenarios you will already have most of them.
You will need Horgys virgin re-paint for this to work, it's the latest version but the same ID as before ID 22899
As ever, any questions or problems, please contact me by p.m. on the UKTS forums. ( other contact details are in the readme )

Edenderry free roam scenario with 0-6-0 & 2-6-0 engines

This is a free roam scenario for the excellent Edenderry Branch route using 2-6-0 and 0-6-0 tender engines to approximate the engines used by the Irish Railways in the steam era. There's one of each in the Edenderry shed, and another 0-6-0 at Enfield.

To play the scenario, you will need two freeware locomotives, the BR Collet 0-6-0 (UKTS File #21715) and the BR Ivatt 2-6-0 (UKTS File #21527). I'm pretty sure all the cars are default assets, but one or two of them might have sneaked in from the UKTS British Wagons Freeware Pack--which is so good you really ought to have it anyway!

Woodhead Test: Two Ports (The Hull-Liverpool Express)

This started out as a normal scenario, but is now something of a test piece to see what sort of load the placing of reasonably large amounts of AI and static consists make to frame rates/smoothness in Woodhead. The scenario is quite demanding once entering Manchester so is not recommended for lesser powered computers. I'll upload a light version in a few days.

With TSX on, anti-aliasing set to none and Graphic settings to high in custom with shadows, water and particles set low, on my i3 2.13Ghz Geforce 310m 4Gig ram laptop, frame rates drop in the last 5 miles into Manchester to around 5 or 6 fps in the odd place. It runs somewhat faster on my desktop i5 3.1 Ghz Geforce GTX 460 with 4Gig ram. I'd appreciate some feedback in the Railworks Scenario Creation forum if anyones inclined.

The Scenario.

"The Black 5 pulling the Hull Liverpool Express is suffering from poor coal. You and your EM1 are the only ones who can rescue the Express. Your loco's coupled up and ready to go.Are you up to the job!" A drive from Sheffield Victoria to Manchester London RD.

Unzip the Two Ports.zip file and use Package Manager in Railworks to install theTwoPorts.RWP file.

This scenario requires the following additional stock:

Payware: The P3 set from Making Tracks http://www.makingtracks-online.co.uk

Freeware: from UKTrainsim

LMS P3 Full First File ID : 28205

Presflos for Felixtowe Pt4 (LTS v2)

PRESFLOS FOR FELIXTOWE for London, Tilbury and Southend (LTS) V2 route

Pt4
Woodgrange Park Junction to Tilbury

Description:
Part 4 of an activity of 4 independent parts (separate downloads) spanning 2 routes, London, Tilbury and Southend v2 (LTS) by Michael Beere for parts 1 & 4 and Making Tracks (MT) Great Eastern V1.3 (GE) (NOT v2) for parts 2 & 3. Each part is run separately i.e. if you do not have GE but have LTS you can just run the LTS, parts 1 & 4 and visa versa GE parts 2 & 3.

Set around 1958 to 1962, when the greatest diversity of motive power was in use. On GE Electricity had moving in on steam for the suburban services and diesel was encroaching on steam services on the mainline, but all were there alongside each other. Within the limits of stock, liveries available and periods of the routes design, I hope to have captured the feel of the routes at that time. Maybe the actual locos didn't roll on Essex rails, but members of their class did, maybe the livery is not right for the period, it would have been were it available. Poetic license has been necessary in places; I just had to make do with what there was. Oh, unfortunately, the activity being set around 1960 (+/-2), LTS even earlier and the GE track work set in 1980 there were many changes about which there is nothing I can do. Even if it was GE V2 and the era changer was used, it wouldn t change that.

If you could join them together the four parts would take you on a double headed freight run from Tilbury, via Stratford where you change ends before taking off in the opposite direction to Ipswich, your destination. After offloading, you couple up to your return load and head back the way you came again via Stratford once more you change ends and head back towards the LTS. Down the Tilbury branch to Purfleet to drop your consist then head for home at Tilbury. Park the BV you took with you, park your helper loco in the shed then park your loco next to it and you are done. Keep your head down though, the boss is about and if he catches you he may have a little job for you.

Please note: IF YOU HAVE ALREADY DOWNLOADED PART ONE AND THE ITEMS ON THE STOCK LIST, NO OTHER STOCK IS REQUIRED.

Apart from the Great Eastern Route plus all its free updates to v1.3, this activity requires NO PAYWARE. All stock is available from UKTS or trainsim.com FREE downloads. A stock list is provided with a cut & paste version for quick entry.

The download list for this activity may seem long, but it provides variety in the passing traffic. I find it boring to see the same few trains pass time and time again. You may as well watch Thomas the Tank engine (or whatever) go round an oval of track.

The class 31s D5501 and D5541 need to be changed to 'Chain' and 'Vacuum-Single_Pipe' respectively.

As always, read the READ_ME file first.

Thanks to slipperman12 (LTS and GE) and douglee (LTS only) for testing, help, encouragement and support. Thanks also to all those who have contributed the fruits of their labours which have made this activity possible with the many items we can freely download and use from UKTS and the other Train Simming resource sites.

Pre Grouping on the Crabenmore

After the Second World war, the Crabenmore Branch needed some new locos. 5 Hawthorn Leslie 0-4-0ST locos were ordered for the branch, with a sixth being bought by the Brewers at Crabenmore. These locos worked the line until the LMS took over all operations.

This Pack has 7 scenarios in it, 6 standard and 1 free roam.

A simple run - A simple pick up goods from Glenait to Portdonoch
The Brewing supplies - Take some supplies up to the Brewery before returning with a Cattle Train
The Fish Express - Drive a double headed fish train to Glenait
Wet Fish - A storm, a failed engine and an even bigger load will make this fish express a more difficult trip.
Early Morning Passenger North - Drive to a Timetable from Gleanait to Portdonoch
Early Morning Passenger South - Drive to a Timetable from Portdonoch to Glenait
Summer in Scotland, 1920 - Free Roam starting at Glenait

This uses the fantastic Crabenmore branch by medion694 and the lovely Candlewick locos by briyeo and the Isle of Wight's Invincible. Of course this history is made up just to use these lovely locos on this lovely route!

You will need:

(Payware) The Falmouth Branch from Steam
(Payware) The Isle of Wight from Steam
UKTS Freeware Wagon pack
Candlewick Rollingstock pack (27683) OR UKTS Candlewick Pack

Sheffield CL101 DMU Stopper

SHEFFIELD CL101 DMU STOPPER

This is a scenario for the RSC WOODHEAD route and utilises the RSC Class 101 DMU as the player locomotive.

The scenario begins with your train stopped at platform 1 in Penistone station. Your train is a working from Leeds to Sheffield Victoria and will complete the final portion of its trip on the Woodhead route. There is an express signalled at the moment which is being given priority over your service so you will be waiting in Penistone for a few minutes. So press T to let your passengers on board and also ensure that your headlights are on whilst you are waiting.

On the run to Sheffield you will see plenty of AI services and will encounter speed restrictions to keep you on your toes. Other than that the scenario is fairly straightforward and will hopefully portray an interesting look at a more mundane service on the line.

A RW Tools stock list has been reproduced and is included in the zip file.

Payware used is as follows;

RSC Woodhead Route
RSC Class 101 DMU
MAKING TRACKS P3 Coaches

Freeware Stock comes from the following;

UKTS Freeware Pack Steam Locomotives (Class 3F)
P3 Full First Coach (UKTS File 28205)

Everything else is simply default.

I hope that the scenario works as intended but if you do encounter any problems with it please don't hesitate to contact me by PM on the forums. If it works well then please write a comment or show a screenshot as it is always nice to hear that someone has enjoyed the scenario.

Enjoy.

BR ex GWR 1366

BR ex GWR 1366 Class for Railworks
Requires RSC Hall OR Falmouth Branch DLC installed (both payware)

Model created for MSTS by Paul Gausden (Decapod)
Converted for Railworks by David Gibbons (longbow)
Cab by Pete Gillam (karma99)

Built in 1934 the six locos of the GWR 1366 class were designed for light axle loads and tight curves. The class spent most of its life at Swindon, Weymouth and Taunton with No 1369 surviving on the South Devon Railway.

This model was made originally in 3D Canvas for MSTS by Paul Gausden, who kindly gave me permission to convert and upload it to RW. The 1366 class was best known for its work on Weymouth Quay and in that role it has been happily pottering along my perpetually unfinished Wessex Lines route for several years, waiting for an upgrade project that I never quite got around to. So I have decided to upload it as-is.

The model has been modified only so far as necessary to make it work in RW. It s a tribute to Paul s skills that even though the model dates back several Trainsim generations it still looks very acceptable in the harsh light of TS2012. Pete Gillam (karma99) was also kind enough to reskin his GWR cab into black for this model. Simon Hall (Kariban) helped debug the files. A big thanks to all of them.

The loco does not have a stencil shadow model, dynamic numbering or any TS2012 features.

Installation

The package installs into the following folders:

Loco: LongbowRailVehiclesSteamgwr1366
Cab: Karma99AddonRailVehiclesSteamPrairieCabview_Black

You will need to tick both these folders in Scenario editor.

Sounds are aliased to the RSC Hall.

Unusual Power

In the 1960s, old locos were being withdrawn and some locos from other parts of the network were moved around to replace them. Many Pannier tanks ended up in Scotland.

You have been presented with one of these Pannier Tanks and now will conduct a local goods and a passenger train as a test for this loco up the Crabenmore Branch.

You will need:
- (Payware) RSDL Falmouth Branch expansion pack available from steam
- UK Buildings pack 1 (Free from steam)
- (Payware) Digital Traction Class 4MT expansion
- (Payware) RSDL Class 101 expansion from steam
- UKTS 27433: 'Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0 tender loco for TSX2012' by Kevin Martin
- UKTS 27347: 'Mk1 Maroon Pack' by adburgess1992
- UKTS 24309: 'BR 16T Mineral Wagon - Grey rusty' by rocky291
- UKTS 26443: 'Digital Tractions Brake Vans' uploaded by 67025
- UKTS 27794: Ivatt Variety Pack by BDY26
- UKTS Freeware Steam Loco Pack 1
- UKTS Freeware Coaches Pack 1
- UKTS Freeware Wagons Pack 1

This is Version 2, which should fix problems some have experienced with the 101 in scenario 1 and the zip file issues. (Hopefully)

RSC Woodhead 21t Hopper Variety pack for Railworks

RSC Woodhead 21t Hopper Variety pack for Railworks

These are a reskin of the RSC Woodhead 21t Hopper into a number of weathered varieties.

Both fitted and unfitted versions are included. The fitted versions have taillamps.

Installation instructions:

This is not a 1 step process, as you will need to copy and paste files as the shape files cannot be redistibuted.

Step 1:

Unzip the Assets folder to file to your Railworks folder and OK to any overwrite prompts.

The default location is usually C:programfilesSteamSteamAppscommonrailworks though this will depend on your machine and operating system.

Step 2:

Copy:

	21THopper.GeoPcDx

from:

railworksAssetsRSCWoodheadRailVehiclesFreight21T Hopper

to each of:

railworksAssetsRSCWoodheadRailVehiclesFreight21T Hopper W01
railworksAssetsRSCWoodheadRailVehiclesFreight21T Hopper W02
railworksAssetsRSCWoodheadRailVehiclesFreight21T Hopper W03
railworksAssetsRSCWoodheadRailVehiclesFreight21T Hopper W04

Step 3:

Copy:

	21THopper.GeoPcDx

from:

railworksAssetsRSCWoodheadRailVehiclesFreight21T Hopper_Fitted

to each of:

railworksAssetsRSCWoodheadRailVehiclesFreight21T Hopper W01_F
railworksAssetsRSCWoodheadRailVehiclesFreight21T Hopper W02_F
railworksAssetsRSCWoodheadRailVehiclesFreight21T Hopper W03_F
railworksAssetsRSCWoodheadRailVehiclesFreight21T Hopper W04_F

IMPORTANT NOTE: whilst the two shape files have the same name, they are different shapes - the fitted version has the air tanks modelled.
If you don't do this correctly you may get errors or missing textures.

Step 4:

Back at the railworks launch screen, and click on the "tools and docs" tab and then click "clear cache".

If you don't have RWTools installed, you will also need David Brindley's Oil Lamps UKTS file 20067

To use the wagons in game:

While editing a scenario, in the middle flyout on the left of your screen, click the blue cube. In the flyout that will then appear on your right, scroll down to "RSC" and tick the box, and then scroll down to "Woodhead" and click that box.

The wagons will now show in the game as below.

WH Hopper 21t Coal W01
WH Hopper 21t Coal W02
WH Hopper 21t Coal W03
WH Hopper 21t Coal W04
WH Hopper 21t Coal Fitted W01
WH Hopper 21t Coal Fitted W02
WH Hopper 21t Coal Fitted W03
WH Hopper 21t Coal Fitted W04
WH Hopper 21t Coal Fitted W01_rear
WH Hopper 21t Coal Fitted W02_rear
WH Hopper 21t Coal Fitted W03_rear
WH Hopper 21t Coal Fitted W04_rear

Varieties:

There are 4 grades of weathering:

W01 - run in, slightly toned down paint
W02 - more heavily weathered
W03 - more filthy and unloved
W04 - quite despicable and voiced by Barry Cryer

PROBLEMS?

Make sure you have copied the files across correctly - each folder should include the 21THopper.GeoPcDx folder or you will just see the couplings.
