TS2012 Legacy Mode Problems
Tuesday 18 October 2011By NeutronIC [Matthew Peddlesden]

Abstract:
Are you one of the users that have found that their hardware is unable to run the new TSX mode, but surprisingly are having major problems even without TSX mode where RailWorks 2 ran fine?

I spoke to a large number of people at the Peterborough exhibition on Saturday and Sunday and while most people were either running it fine in TSX mode, or running it fine on lower end hardware without TSX mode there were a couple of people reporting problems much like some do on the forums, where the product is simply not performing for them at all as well as it did with RailWorks 2 OR for some, not working at all.

If you're in the boat that your machine can't run TSX mode (which does require good hardware) and RailWorks 2 ran fine then RailSimulator.com have said:

"However, the Legacy mode(TSX switched off) Should be the same performance (if not better) and visuals of RWs2.
If it does not then please report it to Support."

(posted by RSDerek to the forums in October)

I'd urge you to get in touch with RailSimulator.com (support@railsimulator.com) and detail your problems. Exactly what your specification machine is, what settings you're trying to use, what happens and generally as much information as possible. If you've emailed them before and not had any response, send another email off now because more recent postings indicate that they are in progress with all current emails that are still open; so if you're still waiting it's possible your email either didn't make it or fell through the cracks unfortunately.

Train Simulator 2012 is fantastic, it's worth persevering with, and with the comment above from RSDerek it seems that if you can help them identify what doesn't work with your system they'll try to do what they can to fix the issue and you can't say fairer than that.

Matt.
