| Description | : | Designed by Wilson Worsdell, 110 of these medium passenger tanks were built between 1894 and 1901 for the North Eastern Railway and designated Class O. Primarily used for suburban and branch passenger services the class saw front-line service until the late 1930s,when heavy suburban workings were replaced by the LNER's A and V class heavy tanks. During this time, twenty-one of the class were fitted with Vacuum-operated push-pull gear for working branch line services, before eventually being replaced by diesel railcars. Withdrawals began in 1950, and by 1958 the class was extinct.
This engine uses Stuart Williamson's Excellent two-cylinder sound set (See below) and will not run correctly without it. |
