Description : Stephenson Clarke was the largest coal company in the UK with over 10,000 wagons. They supplied many gas works and power stations as well as the Admiralty and the Southern Railway and also sold household coal. They also owned a large shipping fleet. They obtained coal from all the major coalfields and also distibuted coke. Their wagons could be see almost anywhere except the North East where coastal shipping was used to send coal south. They were rarely seen in Scotland. To reflect the large fleet I have modelled 7 different wagons. The large 20 ton wagons would have mainly served industrial customers and gas works. Three of the wagons also have coke rails.
