Description : Scotrail Class 156 "156433" v2.0 --------------------- The Class 156 Super Sprinter units were built by Metro-Cammell between 1987 and 1989. A total of 114 2-car units were built, and units are numbered 156401 to 156514. The Class 156s were built to replace elderly first-generation DMUs and locomotive hauled passenger trains. Each unit is formed of two driving motors, and runs in DMS + DMSL formation, and are powered by 6-cylinder Cummins NT855-R5 diesel engines, with Voith T211r hydraulic automatic transmission and Gmeinder final drive units. The units have a top speed of 75 mph. The first 100 units were ordered by BR Provincial sector and were in blue and beige with light blue stripe livery. The final 14 units were ordered by Strathclyde PTE and carried Strathclyde Transport orange and black livery, which were used on non-electrified suburban services in the Strathclyde area. Following the privatisation of British Rail, the Class 156 fleet was split between several franchises. About this Model --------------------- This model represents 156433 in Scotrail saltire blue livery, the livery which was introduced from 2009. This is one of the first three Class 156 units to receive the saltire livery, and also had blue roofs, other units being 156494 and 156437. The rest of the fleet that received the saltire blue livery have dark grey roofs. The fright animation object has been added so the saltire chevrons at ends are now displayed properly. This model features a passenger view situated in DMSL vehicle. This train requires the following: *Class 156 Cabview, available from http://www.uktrainsim.com. (UKTS File 8859) *This unit uses default KIHA31 sounds. This unit can also use Sprinter sounds from MT Great Eastern. If you own the MT Great Eastern product then we recommend the use of Sprinter sounds. This unit is set up as standard MSTS installation and is suitable for all MSTS installations.
