| Description | : | The LMS standard horse box was built with a 12ft 6in wheelbase.
In 1938 one wagon was converted to 16ft wheelbase but the war prevented any further progress.
In 1948-50 a batch of 116 16ft boxes were built by BR. The increase in wheelbase allowed these wagons to run in express trains without restriction.
They were not confined the the LMR region.
